Website Development

The design built as a fast, maintainable website with agreed accessibility requirements, which your team can update without a developer.

We turn the design into a responsive, maintainable website. The technical choices depend on how much content you publish, who edits it and which systems the site needs to talk to.

The technology follows the project. Our recent custom websites, this one included, are built with Next.js, React and TypeScript. Where a platform fits better, for example WooCommerce for a store or Webflow for a marketing site your team edits itself, the platform is the right choice; custom code for its own sake helps nobody.

What we deliver

  • Front-end development from the approved design
  • CMS setup with content models and editor roles
  • Responsive build and cross-browser testing
  • Forms with validation, spam protection and email delivery
  • Accessibility built in: semantic markup, keyboard use, contrast
  • Image, video and font optimisation
  • Metadata, sitemap and structured data
  • Hosting, launch and redirects

Technology & implementation

A custom Next.js build makes sense when the design calls for precise layouts, motion or interactive elements, or when the site needs application features such as accounts, a configurator or integrations. Depending on the project, we use server-side rendering or static generation. Performance, accessibility and search-engine visibility still need to be addressed and tested separately.

Content usually comes from a headless CMS, so editors work in a familiar interface while the front end stays independent of it. Which CMS depends on your editors and your content volume; a small site can also keep its content in the code repository.

Hosting depends on the stack. A Next.js site can run on a platform such as Vercel, with a preview deployment for every change, so you review the exact build that will go live. Forms, analytics and cookie consent are set up with privacy in mind, and reduced-motion preferences are respected throughout.

How the work runs

  1. Technical plan

Platform, CMS, hosting and integrations chosen against your content and your team.

  2. Build in previews

Each section is built and reviewed on a live preview link, not in screenshots.

  3. Content and testing

Real content entered, then testing on phones, browsers, keyboard navigation and screen readers.

  4. Launch and handover

Domain, redirects and analytics in place, then a walkthrough for your editors.

Example use

An illustrative scenario, not a description of a completed project.

A design studio hands over finished layouts for a multilingual site with a product catalogue and an enquiry form. We build the front end, connect the content system, set up language-specific addresses and metadata, and hand the editors a site they can update themselves.

Custom websites, considered from the first wireframe to the last breakpoint.
